What is your best product for absorbing oil?
Either our SCOTT® SHOP TOWELS ON A ROLL Towels
or
SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels do an excellent job
absorbing
oil and other liquids or messy spills. A good
practice
is to have one of the SCOTT® SHOP TOWELS ON A
ROLL Towels
towels handy when changing oil to catch any drips
and
clean up a spill. They are great for wiping down the
entire
“under the hood” area. Remember to dispose of any oily waste
properly.
Do SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels or SCOTT® SHOP
TOWELS
ON A ROLL Towels leave any lint. Are they OK
to use on windows?
These products are remarkably low in lint and will do an
excellent
job cleaning windows and other surfaces.
How do your shop towels hold up in solvents?
SCOTT® Shop Towels
handle most tough clean-up challenges.
However, certain harsh
solvents require special clean-up materials.
For those tough
chemicals, you may need SHOPPRO® Shop
Towels. Check it out on
our DIY news page.
What are your shop towels and dropcloths made of?
Kimberly-Clark manufactures the fabric from durable cellulose
which has been
creped for softness and absorbency. Reinforcing
latex binder is applied to the
fabric surface for strength and integrity.
The resulting fabric is remarkably
cloth-like, handling the tough
clean-up challenges. On dropcloths, the same type
fabric is utilized
with the application of a slip
resistant poly film to the back to resist
leak through of paint splatters or spills.
Can I use your towels for cleaning up paint brushes and paint
spills?
We recommend using SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels (fresh
towels) for
cleaning brushes, spills, drips and mistakes. They are
highly absorbent, resists
bleed through and are very economical
to use. Clean up all types of paint and
stain then dispose of the
messy towels appropriately.
Can I use your SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels to wax and polish
my car?
SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels will not scratch hard
surfaces
such as paint on a car, windows or mirrors. Make sure the surface
to be waxed and buffed is clean and free from any dirt or grit
particles or
scratching may result.
Can I use your towels for cleaning up pet messes on carpets
and floors?
We recommend using SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels (fresh
towels) for
absorbing pet messes.
How much do your towels and dropcloths cost?
How am I supposed to dispose of my used SCOTT® RAGS IN
A BOX Towels
and SCOTT® SHOP TOWELS ON A ROLL Towels?
Any disposable product should first be thoroughly dried out (air
dried
so the rag or towel is not dripping liquid). The dried out rag
or towel can
then be disposed of properly. CAUTION: If you have
been using a solvent,
for safety sake make sure you dry out the
towel in a well ventilated area or outside.
Can the SCOTT® RAGS IN A BOX Towels or SCOTT® SHOP
TOWELS ON A ROLL Towels be used with food?
While our products are not toxic and excellent at cleaning up spills
and messes, they are not intended for use with food, and have not
been
tested for direct contact with food products. We do not
recommend use
in that way.
How long can I use your SCOTT®
Shop Towels before I have to
throw them away?
Our products are manufactured with
an extra durable construction.
They work like cloth and can be used
again and again.
What sizes do you have in your dropcloths?
Our GOTCHA COVERED® Dropcloths and Professional Dropcloths
are available in a variety of sizes from 4 foot wide runners great
for
use in hallways and perimeter wall painting through 8' X 12',
9' X 12'
and 12' X 15' for the really big jobs including protecting
furniture.
Which side of the dropcloth is up?
Our GOTCHA COVERED® and Professional Dropcloths are
designed to
absorb paint on the fiber side which should face
up. The back or down side
is coated with a non-slip, leak resistant
poly film. The poly film side is
smoother than the absorbent fiber
side. An easy way to distinguish this is to drop
a small amount of
water on the surface you want to test. The water will bead
up on the
poly film side but absorb quickly into the absorbent fiber side.
Will your towels
scratch a surface such as paint on a car,
windows or mirrors?
Our towels will not scratch hard
surfaces such as paint on a car,
windows or mirrors. However wiping a dirty
surface dry (without
the lubricating action of a wax or cleaning solution)
may result in
scratches regardless of what material is used to wipe.
